2. What information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored encrypted)
- Profile information: your CV, work history, skills, preferences, location, visa/work rights status, and other career information you choose to enter
- Job application content: job descriptions you paste in, and personal notes you add
- Generated documents: the tailored CVs and cover letters the AI creates for you
- Payment information: processed securely by PayPal or Stripe — we never see or store your card details
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, and device type (via Google Analytics 4)
3. How we use your information
- To generate tailored CVs and cover letters using your profile data
- To save your application history so you can access past documents
- To process payments for paid plans
- To send transactional emails (welcome, payment receipts, data expiry warnings)
- To improve the platform through anonymised usage analytics
4. Who we share your data with
- Anthropic (Claude AI): your CV and job description are sent to Anthropic's API to generate your tailored documents. Anthropic's privacy policy applies.
- Cloudflare: our hosting, database, and storage provider.
- PayPal / Stripe: payment processing only. We share only what is required to process your payment.
- Google Analytics 4: anonymised usage data only. No personal information is shared with Google.
We do not sell your data to any third party. We do not share your data with advertisers.
5. Data retention
- Generated ZIP files and documents: kept for 6 months, then automatically deleted. Warning email sent at 5 months.
- Profile data: kept for as long as your account is active.
- Inactive free accounts (12 months no login): 30 days notice then deleted.
- Payment records: kept for 7 years as required by New Zealand financial law.
6. Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Email privacy@jobtailoring.com to exercise these rights. We will respond within 20 working days.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted password storage, and access controls. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.
